"They must think as Mary,
judge as Mary, feel and act as Mary in all things..."
(SM Constitution 228)
Dear friends
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Website of the Society of Mary, Philippine District. I invite you to spend some time with us and to wander through these pages in a prayerful and reflective way.
Reading these pages will give you an insight into the special contribution that the priests and brothers of our Marian congregation make each day, through their dedicated ministry, to the lives of countless men and women throughout the world.
Our distinctive spirituality aims at living the Gospel in the spirit of Mary, Jesus' first and foremost disciple. It has enriched our lives and I strongly believe it can enrich your life as well.
I invite you to share "Mary's Way" and live with us "the spirit of Mary."
Fr Hermes "Larry" Sabud SM
Major Superior, Marist Fathers Philippine District
Fr. Larry Sabud is back here in Davao City after he went to Rome for the meeting of the Majoy Superiors of the Society of Mary, together with the Gen.Superior and his council. After the said meeting, Fr. Larry went to our mission community in Ranong, Thailand to visit our conferes and to facilitate a recollection for the team.
During Fr. Larry's arrival, the Marists here in Davao gave him a welcome party. On his speech, Fr. Larry eagerly told us about some information during the meeting and he gave us also some news about the situation of our brothers in Ranong, and told us to remember them always in our prayers.
Welcome back Fr. Larry.
Who is the big man walking in this group, that’s me, ‘Aliki. This group is from the Southern Baptist Church who took initiative and made their own streamer. This walk was well supported from all different religious sectors. The Muslim communities were present with their Ustadh and their Imam.
Fr. Long, (centre) in the white T-Shirt, with the Lay Marist Group from Cotabato City, at the end of the program. There were at least 500 people who joined in this walk. From Our Lady of Salvation Parish, we say thank you, and may we continue to “Walk in the path of Peace”
Superior-General, Fr John Hannan SM, has called for worldwide Marist support in prayer for this first annual meeting of major superios with the general administration, following a decree of the 2009 General Chapter. The meeting concludes on Oct 04.
